"I'm in my prime" - Danny Kingad explains why rematch with Adriano Moraes will go differently

Danny Kingad is looking to avenge a loss from much earlier in his career when he returns to action at ONE 169.

'The King' has competed against many of the top names in the flyweight MMA division during his long run under the ONE Championship banner.

Though he has had his fair share of highlights and setbacks, he now has the chance to settle the score on one of them.

Back in 2017, he challenged Adriano Moraes for the flyweight MMA title following a three-fight win streak after arriving in the promotion. He was submitted in the first round by the defending champion who would lose the belt in his next title defense.

The two staples of the division are set to run it back at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Nov. 8 in a pivotal flyweight clash.

In a recent interview with The MMA Superfan, Kingad spoke about why he believes that the rematch will be different:

"Back then, I wasn't mature yet, let's say I wasn't ripe for the picking yet. I feel now that I'm getting older, getting wiser and better now I believe I'm in my prime physically."

Danny Kingad can put himself right at the front of the pack

A rematch of this magnitude is always going to have big stakes for the division and for Danny Kingad and Adriano Moraes.

However, since this fight was announced, it has become a lot more significant following what happened at ONE 168.

Flyweight MMA champion Demetrious Johnson announced his retirement inside the Ball Arena in Denver, vacating his belt in the process.

Considering the careers of both men, Kingad and Moraes could set themselves apart from the rest of the division by winning this fight and potentially going on to win the vacant belt in the near future.

Tickets for ONE 169: Atlanta are available via Ticketmaster.
