"I'm very proud of myself" - Nabil Anane on the magnitude of his massive win against third-ranked Felipe Lobo
Nabil Anane continued to surge on an upwards trajectory on his main roster debut this past weekend at ONE Fight Night 24.
The 20-year-old has shown that he has bags of potential but this performance showed that he isn't just the future, he's the present also.
On August 2 at Lumpinee Stadium, he took on Felipe Lobo, who was last seen challenging for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship.
Anane was able to extend his impressive winning streak on his main roster debut by winning a convincing decision against Lobo at the end of three rounds.
There is no better way to announce yourself at the top of this division than taking out the last title challenger and making it look easy.
He knows what a win like this could do for his career and with that in mind, the rising contender took a moment to take everything in and give thanks.
In his post-fight interview with Nick Atkin for Sportskeeda MMA, Anane spoke about the magnitude of his victory:
"Yeah, [it's] a huge victory. He was number three ranked in ONE Championship. Now I'm very proud of myself. Thank you to all my team. Thank you all my fans. Thank you so much."

Nabil Anane isn't rushing things
It'd be easy for someone on the same kind of run as Nabil Anane to start calling for title shots.
His run of wins since suffering a defeat on his debut against Superlek has been incredibly impressive.
He hasn't stopped building ever since that fight but the 20-year-old competitor knows that he has got time on his side.
With a mature head on his shoulders, he's in no rush to make it to the top before he's prepared for that jump.
Anane is in this for the long game and he's only going to get better.
