"I'm rent free in y'all mind" - Jamahal Hill scoffs at fans' "brain damage in these comments" after picking Ilia Topuria as his 'Fighter of the Year'

Jamahal Hill has taken the time to respond to fans who were getting on him about picking Ilia Topuria instead of Alex Pereira for his Fighter of the Year in 2024. This situation transpired during an interview that the former UFC light heavyweight champion did with Helen Yee.

An excerpt from the full YouTube-based interview was posted on the Instagram page @helenyeesports with Hill explaining that Topuria generated more 'holy s**t' moments, to use his operative wording. But Hill also credited Pereira as someone who stepped up multiple times this year and had great performances including a KO win against Hill himself at UFC 300 in April.

Some in the comments interpreted the selection of Topuria over Pereira for 2024 FOTY as Hill being a hater, being salty, or some derivative of that sort of idea. In response to some of the haters who were coming at him on the IG post, Jamahal Hill wrote:

"The brain damage in these comments from s*ck riders is funny asf!!! I'm rent free in y'all mind and souls"

Jamahal Hill on Alex Pereira winning Fighter of the Year

Jamahal Hill was gracious and respectful toward Alex Pereira in the video above, despite the fan comments implying Hill was being a hater, which is especially impressive considering the bad blood that seems to keep growing between the two.

The two fought at UFC 300 as the former champ Hill failed to become a two-time light heavyweight champion while Pereira retained his 205-pound belt. In recent times though, Pereira and Hill had a viral video pop up that saw the two men confronting each other at the UFC PI with tensions at a fever pitch.

Hill noted within the same Helen Yee interview that he saw 'Poatan' received that award and that they weren't wrong to give that distinction to Pereira.

The Chicago native is next lined up to throw down against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311 on Jan. 18. If Jamahal Hill were to beat a fellow former UFC light heavyweight champion in the coming weeks and to do so with great emphasis, 'Sweet Dreams' could very well punch his ticket toward Hill vs. Pereira II which he clearly has a great hunger for.
