"I'm a star" - Johan Estupinan confident fourth successive win at ONE Fight Night 25 pushes him one step closer to greatness

Colombian striking upstart Johan Estupinan kept up his impressive form at ONE Fight Night 25 this past Friday, Oct. 4.

After reeling in three successive triumphs on martial arts' biggest stage, the 22-year-old was handed arguably the toughest test of his career in the form of heavy-handed Moroccan dynamo Zakaria El Jamari.

But as he's done thus far, 'Panda Kick' reminded why he's a star in the making as he bested his opposite number on his way to a second-round highlight-reel finish inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Reflecting on his win and where it puts him amongst the most elite on the promotional roster, Johan Estupinan had this to say during a post-event interview:

"I came here to make hearts happy. I came here to give you my best, to give the fans a show, a great, great show in this great company. So yeah, I think I'm a star."

His knockout win inside the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' improved his unblemished record to 26-0. At the same time, Estupinan acquired his second straight US$50,000 performance bonus after bagging one for his knockout win of Sean Climaco at ONE 168: Denver.

Johan Estupinan can expect more tough challenges down the road

Regardless of what the future holds for the JCFernandez and Team CSK athlete, the superstar has shown that he can hang with the very best in the organization's stacked flyweight Muay Thai division.

Perhaps with a few more succesful nights out on the global stage, Johan Estupinan can push himself into the world title mix alongside divisional king Rodtang Jitmuangnon.

Before he dreams of doing so, plenty of men will be more than willing to derail his hype train. The division's ranked chart is home to proven warriors such as Superlek Kiatmoo9, Denis Puric, Jacob Smith, Nakrob Fairtex, and Elias Mahmoudi.

But one fight that seems to be a standout option among fans is a clash between him and young Malaysian-American phenom Johan Ghazali.
