“I’m still rising, who’s next?” - Jarred Brooks ready for all comers in his march to undisputed strawweight MMA gold
Jarred Brooks is ready for whoever ONE Championship throws at him next.
The reigning ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion showed on a recent Instagram post that he's stayed at peak fighting form, and called on anyone brave enough to meet him inside the cage or ring.
Brooks doesn't have a match lined up, as far as any official announcements go, but he remains in top physical shape if ONE Championship comes calling for him.
He wrote in his post:
"I have fought my way to the top, and there’s no doubt: I’m the best flyweight in the world. Every opponent who’s stepped in my path has faced the full force of relentless pressure, technique, and hunger. No one grinds like me. No one thinks of the game like me. You either rise to the occasion or get left behind—and trust me, I’m still rising. Who’s next?"
Jarred Brooks is coming off a sublime submission finish of Cuban Olympic wrestler Gustavo Balart to capture the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title at ONE Fight Night 24.
He now waits for Joshua Pacio, the reigning ONE strawweight MMA world champion, to recover from his ACL injury for their inevitable world title unification fight.
Brooks, however, has been stirring the pot for his newfound beef against Russian grappling terror Mansur Malachiev, the number two-ranked strawweight MMA contender.
It'll be intriguing to see if Brooks will first face Malachiev before his world title unification fight or if he'll go straight at Pacio and try to claim undisputed gold.
Jarred Brooks says Mansur Malachiev is far too one-dimensional to be a threat to his game
Mansur Malachiev's grappling pedigree is practically untouchable, but Jarred Brooks believes the Russian star is far too one-dimensional to pose a threat if they fight one another.
In an exclusive interview with Spotskeeda MMA, Brooks said:
"Mansur is a one-sided fighter but he does it well. This not great at MMA as a whole but the things he is good at, he perfects and hits on everyone."
