"I'm sure everyone's going to see the results" - Reece McLaren raves about new training camp, promises improved form
Fourth-ranked ONE flyweight mixed martial arts contender 'Lightning' Reece McLaren of Queensland, Australia says he's made some very important changes to his training camp that should pay dividends.
The 32-year-old Aussie recently left Boonchu, where he previously trained under the tutelage of ONE Championship legend 'The Gunslinger' John Wayne Parr, to train at CMBT Training Centre, where he focuses more on the wider gamut of mixed martial arts, rather than just Muay Thai.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, McLaren talked about the decision to switch gyms, and why it has benefited him.
'Lightning' said:
"Respectfully, I think some things just run full circle. I've made the switch now to the CMBT Training Centre. I'm training there full time and I'm already seeing a massive improvement in a few things, MMA-wise."
McLaren gave props in particular to one person who heads the MMA program at CMBT - Miles Muecke. He added:
"I have to give props to Miles [Muecke]. His dedication to my training has blown me away. As head coach, he's taken everything by the reins and I've definitely gone to another level thanks to him."
"I'm sure everyone's going to see the results."
McLaren can't wait to showcase his improvements, and the former ONE world title challenger will get to do just that next weekend.
