“I’m totally different now” - Filipino star Danny Kingad says he’s a far better fighter seven years after he first fought Adriano Moraes
Filipino fighter Danny Kingad has made great strides in his journey to becoming one of the top fighters in the world. Today, the flyweight MMA contender believes he is on par with his long-time rival and tormentor, former ONE world champion Adriano Moraes of Brazil.
'The King', who is now representing Lions Nation MMA, will go head-to-head with Moraes at ONE 169 in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 8, and he sees this as an opportunity to prove he has what it takes to move up on the ladder.
Ahead of their rematch from the 2017 encounter, the 28-year-old told The MMA Superfan in a recent interview how different he is now if compared to their first clash.
Kingad said:
"I’m totally different now. It’s been seven years since that last fight. I was young back then and I believe I have improved."
Moreover, the surging contender also believed he harvested the fruits of his grueling training sessions throughout the years, adding:
"I’ve gotten better. I’ve innovated in my training and I’ve been stronger physically. As a competitor, you have no other choice but to improve each day. This is a good way to start settling old scores and ticking off rematches."

Danny Kingad has no doubts on joining Lions Nation MMA
There is a reason Danny Kingad remained on top of his game throughout his mixed martial arts career: his ties with the world famous Team Lakay gym in the Philippines.
For a long time, the gym had produced ONE world champions such as Eduard Folayang and Kevin Belingon, but things were meant to change.
As Kingad's former teammates left to pursue other training methods to improve their game, he followed suit and joined the Lions Nation MMA.
He told ONE about his reasons in a previous interview:
"Joining Lions Nation was a no-brainer. I was always going to join my brothers."
And now, Danny Kingad is prepared to face another tough challenge in Adriano Moraes at ONE 169: Atlanta, on Nov. 8.
ONE 169 will take place inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta and broadcast over Amazon Prime Video. Tickets for the events are available for purchase via Ticketmaster.
