Although Mayssa Bastos has accomplished many things beyond everyone else's expectations, she also dealt with tough losses in her career.
As she heads into the ONE atomweight submission grappling world title match against reigning queen Danielle Kelly at ONE Fight Night 24, Bastos recalled those hard moments that made her who she is today.
Despite all the losses, the decorated world champion was able to pick herself up every single time, thanks to her determination and always-evolving mindset.
When asked about what is the biggest challenge to live a life out of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the 26-year-old told ONE Championship:
"I think the biggest difficulty was when I lost a fight, because I needed to have a good mindset to come back and continue working."
Getting back up might not be the easiest thing to do for anyone, but with an impressive record of 115-12 throughout her career, it is safe to say that Bastos has outdone each of her losses tenfold.
Mayssa Bastos focuses on ONE world title among her other career-highs

She added some advice for the young guns who are aiming for glory:
"The advice I can give is to focus on the things you have control over, because nothing is permanent, whether the bad or good time."
