“I do have a few people I want to knock out” - Jonathan Haggerty already eyeing next set of victims after Superlek clash
Jonathan Haggerty is very confident that he will blast through Superlek Kiatmoo9 in his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title defense at ONE 168: Denver, and even has his sights on other top competitors.
Headlining the event on September 6 when ONE makes its return to the U.S. soil inside the Ball Arena, Denver, Colorado, the British superstar is ready for a tough but memorable fight with Superlek.
As Haggerty puts plenty on the line, he expects nothing less than a victorious evening, and he told Tom Taylor in The Sporting News about what's next after the Denver matchup.
He said:
“We’re not looking past Superlek, but I do have a few people I want to fight and knock out, including Nico Carillo."
'The General' also hinted a return to kickboxing, where he would defend his well-earned world title against any contenders available:
"I also want to defend my kickboxing belt, because the last fight was for my Thai boxing belt, so I want to defend my kickboxing belt as soon as possible.”
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
Superlek aims to dominate Jonathan Haggerty in Denver
Although Jonathan Haggerty has shown that he's fully prepared for one of the biggest fights in Muay Thai history, Superlek thinks otherwise.
The Thai superstar and ONE flyweight kickboxing king believes that Haggerty will be surprised when they clash on the organization's second on-ground spectacle in the United States.
Previously, Superlek told Sportskeeda about his upcoming fight at ONE 168:
"I believe that I have made huge improvements since the last time he fought me. I've been with ONE for a while, and I have grown comfortable with the style and smaller gloves."
Both ONE world champions have enjoyed lengthy winning streaks before heading into this massive rematch in the Centennial State, as Jonathan Haggerty amassed six wins and three finishes and Superlek boasting a perfect 10-0 record.
