“I still have ways to go” - Superlek says he has yet to reach peak form following epic elbow knockout of Jonathan Haggerty

Reigning and undisputed ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion and newly crowned ONE bantamweight Muay Thai king 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 of Thailand isn't buying into his own hype.

Despite conquering two sports in two different weight classes, a feat rarely achieved by any fighter at this level, Superlek remains humble and grounded.

Speaking to veteran report Nick Atkin in a recent interview, Superlek said he has quite a ways to go before reaching the pinnacle of his time in the ring.

'The Kicking Machine' said:

"I don't think I'm quite there yet. I think that I still have ways to go in terms of getting used to the rule set of ONE, fighting with an exciting style to really bring my style of Muay Thai to the rest of the world"

Superlek made history with his first-round knockout of former two-sport king 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty last weekend.

The two locked horns at ONE 168: Denver, in front of a raucous American crowd at the packed Ball Arena in Colorado.

'The Kicking Machine' knocked Haggerty out with a counter elbow, taking the latter's bantamweight Muay Thai gold.

Superlek Kiatmoo9 admits MMA is intriguing and is planning something in the future: "I've thought about it"

'The Kicking Machine' has thought about the possibility of transitioning to mixed martial arts, given his immense success as a pure striker. He admits the thought has crossed his mind.

He told Nick Atkin:

"I have been curious of going into MMA, I've thought about it, and perhaps in a special rules fight. Maybe we'll see."
