UFC middleweight Derek Brunson trolls Dr. Mike after YouTuber loses to Chris Avila on Jake Paul undercard
Derek Brunson took a jibe at Dr. Mike Varshavski after his recent loss to Chris Avila.
Popular internet personality and physician Dr. Mike took on veteran MMA fighter Chris Avila on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva fight at the Desert Diamond Arena in Arizona. Avila showcased skill and dominated the fight for four rounds. Varshavski ultimately suffered a brutal defeat at the hands of his opponent via unanimous decision.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, UFC middleweight contender Derek Brunson mocked the popular YouTube personality after his defeat at the recently concluded Showtime pay-per-view. The 38-year-old fighter wrote:
"Dr. Mike who fought on #PaulSilva card tonight really inspired me . I think I’m going to the ER tomorrow and performing a surgery . I’m about to try his job 😂😂😂"

Brunson last entered the octagon against Jared Cannonier on the main card of UFC 271. The California-native went toe-to-toe with 'The Killa Gorilla' before getting knocked out during the second round. The defeat ended his five-fight win streak in the promotion. The 38-year-old currently holds a pro-MMA record of 23 wins and 8 losses.
Brunson is next expected to lock horns with Jack Hermansson at the UFC Fight Night event on December 3.

Derek Brunson vs. Jack Hermansson targeted for UFC Fight Night event on 3 December
Derek Brunson, the No. 5-ranked contender in the middleweight division of the UFC, has been targeted for a matchup against No. 8-ranked middleweight Jack Hermansson. The fight is scheduled to take place on December 3, 2022, at the Amway Center in Orlando, United States.
Brunson currently holds a professional MMA record of 23 wins and eight losses. He suffered a KO loss in his most recent outing against Jared Cannonier. Brunson is primarily a wrestler who mixes in striking to disguise his takedowns.
Jack Hermansson, on the other hand, has a pro-MMA record of 27 wins and seven losses. The Swedish fighter is coming off a unanimous decision win over Chris Curtis at UFC Fight Night 208.
With both fighters having a similar record and fighting styles, it will be interesting to see who gains the upper hand.
Hermansson is also a great grappler. However, his grappling match, nearly a year ago, against the sensational Khamzat Chimaev didn't end well.
Derek Brunson has his eyes set on a new goal:
