"I think Shev won last time" - Michael Bisping shares prediction for Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko 3 at Noche UFC 306

Veteran MMA analyst and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping recently offered his prediction for the trilogy bout between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko at Noche UFC 306 this weekend. The bout will be for Grasso's UFC flyweight title, and will hopefully settle the rivalry between the two.

Grasso and Shevchenko last fought at the inaugural Noche UFC event back in September 2023, in which the grueling five-round battle ended in a split draw.

When asked by a fan on X who he thinks will win this weekend, Bisping said:

"Hmm tough one. So evenly matched. I think Shev won last time. But she’s 36, with respect. That said. Shevchenko!"

As it stands, the Grasso-Shevchenko rivalry is at 1-0-1, with Grasso having the sole win in the series. In March 2023, the Mexican world champion shocked the world by snapping Shevchenko's nine-fight winning streak, submitting her in the fourth round for the belt.

Alexa Grasso honored to fight on the same night as Canelo Alvarez

Alexa Grasso's world title fight at Noche UFC 306 takes place on Sept. 14, the same night as fellow Mexican fighter Canelo Alvarez's world title defense against Edgar Berlanga.

Noche UFC 306 takes place in the Sphere while Canelo's bout happens at the T-Mobile Arena, both in Las Vegas. To the UFC flyweight champion, it's a tremendous honor to fight on the same night as the Mexican boxing icon.

Speaking to MMA Junkie on Youtube, Grasso said:

"For me, honestly, I think it's very cool. I've been a big fan of Canelo, we're from the same city. He's from Guadalajara too. I've been watching his whole career, he's a big role model for athletes in Mexico, especially combat sports. So for me it's huge, fighting the same day as him."

Mexican fight fans all over the world will have their fingers crossed that both Mexican champions walk out of their respective arenas with gold still firmly around their waists.
