‘Nomad’ is set to face Ian Garry in the co-main event of UFC 310 on Dec. 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Nevada, United States. He was originally scheduled to fight for the title against reigning welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. However, Muhammad had to pull out of the fight due to a bone infection in his foot.
The Kazakhstani fighter is undefeated in his career with a record of 18-0. Meanwhile, Garry is also undefeated with a perfect record of 15-0. This fight is likely to be a title eliminator.
Ian Garry vows to hand Shavkat Rakhmonov his first defeat at UFC 310
In his most recent outing at UFC 303, Ian Garry secured a unanimous decision victory against Michael Page. Meanwhile, Shavkat Rakhmonov earned a second-round finish over Stephen Thompson via rear-naked choke at UFC 296 in his latest bout.
On his YouTube channel, ‘The Future' shared that he and Rakhmonov have trained together in the past. Garry also confidently claimed that he is ready to hand Rakhmonov his first defeat, stating:
"Honestly, I was pushing for the Shavkat fight. I was pushing for it. Undefeated versus undefeated. We've trained together. We know how good we are. We both respect each other. He probably respects me a lot less than I respect him, which is okay, which is okay. That's the way it should be at that point in our careers. But the truth is, I will take his 0 and I will take that belt."
