"I understand the concern" - Superlek assures fans he made ample preparations to deal with Colorado's attitude
Superlek Kiatmoo9 has experienced a lot in his career but ONE 168 comes with new territory even for him. 'The Kicking Machine' has fought all over the world, but the United States remains a gap on his resume.
He will be looking to tick this off when he headlines the Ball Arena in Denver when challenging Jonathan Haggerty for the bantamweight Muay Thai world championship.
Alongside preparing himself for moving up a weight class, he needs to take one other major precaution when competing on September 6: the altitude.
Denver is a unique place to host athletic competition because it's unlike competing nearly everywhere else in the world for this reason. While he may have traveled to Broomfield, Colorado, last year to attend ONE Fight Night 10, his services weren't required.
'The Kicking Machine' reassured his supporters in a recent interview with the South China Morning Post that he has already been putting in the work to combat the altitude before touching down in Denver on September 1:
"Yes, I understand the concern, and I actually have heard this concern many times over a long period. I am very grateful that people are concerned about this. I understand, but I have also prepared myself for that, and my team has also prepared my preparation for that as well."

Superlek isn't going to be thrown off his game
Having additional factors like weight and altitude to think about isn't going to distract someone like Superlek.
He's one of the best in the world, and through his experience, he has learned a lot about himself.
The flyweight kickboxing world champion has had issues ahead of fight night in the past but he won't want to hurt his chances of pulling off a historic win in the main event.
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
