“I’ve earned this spot” - Jackie Buntan says title match vs. the iconic Anissa Meksen is a testament to her hard work

Jackie Buntan has done the work and now she's ready to cash in on her opportunity to become a ONE world champion.

Returning to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, November 8, the Boxing Works star will compete in one of four massive ONE world title fights as she squares off with seven-time titleholder Anissa Meksen for the ONE strawweight kickboxing crown.

With a solid 6-1 record under the ONE Championship banner and a trio of big wins in her last three outings, Buntan firmly believes that she's earned her spot in the spotlight at ONE 169 and has no intention of squandering it. Buntan told Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview:

"I’ve always been so focused on perfecting my craft and making it better. Even if I win a fight, I still wanna get better. So I know I’ve earned this spot and I’m worthy of standing in there with her."

However, Buntan knows that if she hopes to leave the Mecca of Muay Thai with 26 pounds of gold around her waist, she'll have to go through one of the most decorated kickboxers in the history of the sport.

Anissa Meksen can achieve her dream with a win over Jackie Buntan at ONE 169

Anissa Meksen walks into ONE 169 with a serious experience advantage over Jackie Buntan, having amassed an incredible record that includes 103 career victories and a slew of world titles.

'C18' has captured gold in GLORY Kickboxing as well as under the ISKA, WBC, and WPMF banners. The only thing left for the French-Algerian is to bring home a ONE world championship—an accomplishment she has been dreaming of since making her promotional debut three years ago.

“It’s my dream. It’s my goal. It’s everything to me. If I take the belt, it will be the best moment of my career for sure.”
