“I’ve focused on one fight at a time” - Superlek on dealing with two big fights on his busy schedule
Though Superlek Kiatmoo9 has two massive fights coming down the pike, 'The Kicking Machine' is only focusing on one at a time.
On Friday, June 28, the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion will return to the art of eight limbs for a high-stakes scrap with streaking Thai standout Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in the ONE Friday Fights 68 co-main event.
It will be the first of two fights Superlek has lined up for the summer — the second being a massive world title clash with reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver.
During his appearance at the ONE Friday Fights 68 virtual press conference, 'The Kicking Machine' was asked how he is managing his time and training, especially considering they are in two different weight classes.
"For this fight against Kongthoranee will be 135 pounds and my fight against Jonathan Haggerty will be 145 pounds, and how I’ve managed my weight is that I’ve focused on one fight at a time. After this fight, there are techniques and things I’d have to do to prepare myself for the 145 limit."
ONE Championship will present ONE Friday Fights 68 on Friday, June 28.

Superlek seeks two-sport glory when he challenges Jonathan Haggerty at ONE 168: Denver
Once he takes care of business with Kongthoranee inside the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, 'The Kicking Machine' will focus on what is likely one of the most anticipated fights in ONE Championship history.
Superlek will move up from flyweight to bantamweight, challenging reigning two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty inside Ball Arena in The Mile High City — Denver, Colorado — on Friday, September 6.
Haggerty will go into the bout having knocked out his last three opponents in impressive fashion, the first being Nong-O Hama at ONE Fight Night 9 to claim the bantamweight Muay Thai belt.
He followed that up with a stellar second-round KO of Fabricio Andrade to take home the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title.
Returning to Bangkok to defend his Muay Thai strap, 'The General' landed a jaw-dropping come-from-behind knockout of 'Demolition Man' Felipe Lobo in the third round of their ONE Fight Night 19 headliner.
