"I've got that dog in me" - Jonathan Haggerty shares the biggest lesson he learned after testy fight with Felipe Lobo
Two-sport world champion Jonathan Haggerty revealed the biggest lesson he learned after exchanging leather with Felipe Lobo in his last world title defense.
The UK superstar transformed many doubters into believers when he successfully defeated Lobo after being knocked down in the first round. It was a dramatic scene like no other, with both men throwing serious heat against each other for two more rounds, until Lobo finally reached a breaking point in the third stanza.
Recalling his exciting war with Lobo, Haggerty said:
"I was just relieved to win that one, to get back up. You're only a champion when you defend your belt. And I learned a lot about myself in this fight. So I'm not used to getting knocked down, so when I did get knocked down, I know that I've got that dog in me to get back up and carry on fighting."
After joining the bantamweight bracket in 2022, Jonathan Haggerty has awed his audiences with the quality of performances he's given in his last four fights.
Now, at the height of his career, 'The General' is faced with the ultimate test of defending his Muay Thai crown against fellow Thai world champion, Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver.
Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
