"I’ve never seen you this angry” - Terence Crawford and Eddie Hearn taunt each other after 'Bud's' narrow WBA title win against Israil Madrimov
Terence Crawford recently defeated Israil Madrimov after a close fight to become the new WBA super welterweight champion. Madrimov is currently signed to Matchroom Boxing, a promotional company headed up by Eddie Hearn, who was frustrated by the result.
Hearn was adamant that Madrimov deserved to remain champion, and noted that he did not feel 'Bud' did enough to take the belt from the WBA title holder.
Now the Matchroom Boxing chairman and Crawford have gone back-and-forth online, taunting one another in a surprising exchange.
Having engaged in plenty of friendly banter prior to Madrimov's clash with Nebraska native, the recent change of tone indicates Hearn may still be frustrated, whilst 'Bud' may feel he deserves more credit for the victory.
The new WBA super welterweight champion took to Instagram and wrote:
"What's wrong @EddieHearn"
Hearn fired back with:
"Was simply mesmerized with how easy Madrimov hit you with the right hand all night. Just his 11th pro fight."
Crawford responded:
"5-0 against Matchroom... You better be thanking Turki Alalshikh for keeping you and those other clowns in business. Turki only cares about what's best for the fighters and fans... Appreciate greatness Edward.
"Thanks for taking the credit for the hardwork of @sela, @riyadhseason and Turki Alalshikh. I don't ever remember seeing a Matchroom event like this... Start promoting your fighters and stop using my name."
The promoter taunted:
"Your head's gone Terence. Check my track record, I've never seen you this angry it doesn't suit you."

Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford no more, says Turki Alalshikh
Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are two of the biggest names in boxing, and with 14 pounds in weight separating the pair, Turki Alalshikh was eager to schedule a mega-fight between them.
'Bud' has welcomed the clash on several occasions, but the Mexican pugilist did not share his enthusiasm for the bout.
Following the Israil Madrimov vs. Crawford bout, which took place on Aug. 3, Alalshikh took to X to announce that he would not be planning a clash between Alvarez and 'Bud'. He wrote:
"I decided to disregard the Canelo fight, as I don't want it anymore. Instead I will be focusing on the US market with bigger fights, especially for the legend Crawford..."
