“I’ve seen some weaknesses” - Nong-O plans to expose Kiamran Nabati’s flaws in pivotal Bangkok meeting at ONE Friday Fights 81
It's never an easy feeling for any fighter when Nong-O Hama says he has seen weaknesses in their game before a fight. Nong-O said in an interview with ONE Championship that he has already identified the chinks in Kiamran Nabati's armor ahead of their bantamweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Friday Fights 81 on Friday at Lumpinee Stadium.
The former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion wants to make it two wins in a row, and he plans to use Nabati as his latest victim in his march back to the throne room.
Nong-O didn't reveal the insights he has made, but he did promise to expose those weaknesses come fight night in Bangkok.
He said:
"I’ve seen some weaknesses in him, but I can’t say yet. I want to reveal them in the ring.”
Nong-O Hama is one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time and was an absolute force in his first 10 fights in the promotion. The multi-time Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium world champion went a perfect 10-0 in his first 10 fights in ONE Championship and was 8-0 in world title matches during that span.
Nong-O, however, relinquished the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title to Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9 before dropping his next match to Scottish brawler Nico Carrillo. After suffering two knockout defeats in a row, many wondered what would be next for the legend.
Nevertheless, Nong-O has bounced back from the defeats and claimed a methodical unanimous decision win over Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in his last match at ONE Friday Fights 58.
The Thai legend now has his eyes set on the undefeated Nabati, who owns a 21-0 record, in their pivotal matchup in Bangkok.
Kiamran Nabati remains cautious of Nong-O Hama ahead of Bangkok clash
Nong-O Hama may be up there in terms of age, but Kiamran Nabati knows that the Thai icon is still an extremely difficult challenge ahead of their matchup at ONE Friday Fights 81.
Nabati told the South China Morning Post that Nong-O's experience and overall ability make him one of the most dangerous fighters on the planet.
He added that it would be foolish of him to let his guard down against the former bantamweight Muay Thai king. He said:
"I know he’s old, but he’s also dangerous. I can’t say he’s old and very easy. Nong-O has a lot of experience, and he was a champion for many years. It’s gonna be good fight. I have so much respect for him, and it’s a big honor for me to fight Nong-O and show the world who I am."
