“I’ve been waiting for that” - Superbon wants world title rematch against Tawanchai after Jo Nattawut KO in Bangkok
Superbon hopes his impressive first-round knockout of 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut is enough to earn him a rematch with ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai.
On Friday, Superbon returned to the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok for a showdown with Nattawut in the ONE Friday Fights 81 headliner. While fans were expecting a five-round barnburner between two of the best strikers in the game, the interim ONE featherweight kickboxing king had other plans.
Near the halfway point of the opening round, the Thai superstar unleashed a vicious inside elbow that caught Nattawut clean and sent him crashing to the canvas. Unable to continue, the bout was called off, and Superbon scored his first win in the art of eight limbs under the ONE banner.
Speaking with Nick Atkin following the event, Superbon hopes that his highlight-reel finish inside the Mecca of Muay Thai will be enough to earn him another crack at Tawanchai.
"Of course, I’m going to love it because I’ve been waiting for that rematch against Tawanchai."

Is Superbon vs. Tawanchai 2 the fight to make for ONE 169: Atlanta?
Superbon and Tawanchai previously met at ONE Friday Fights 46 in December, delivering a five-round instant classic that saw the latter walk away with his hand ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship intact.
Tawanchai is currently scheduled to square off with Jo Nattawut in a highly anticipated trilogy bout at ONE 169: Atlanta on November 8. However, that fight has a lot of uncertainty surrounding it after ONE CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed prior to ONE Friday Fights 68 that the winner of Superbon vs. Nattawut would likely be the one to challenge Tawanchai in 'Hotlanta.'
"I think the winner will take on Tawanchai," Sityodtong said at a pre-fight press conference. "I think that's natural."
