“I walk on the streets of Paris” - Alexis Nicolas says he’s just a normal guy despite being world champion

Reigning and undisputed ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion 'Barboza' Alexis Nicolas of France says he remains grounded despite winning the gold in the world's largest martial arts organization.

Nicolas defeated longtime divisional king 'The Immortal' Regian Eersel to claim the gold last April at ONE Fight Night 21 on Prime Video. However, the 26-year-old Mahmoudi Gym representative says everything is the same, and he chooses not to change the way he views himself.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Nicolas shared his thoughts on how his life changed after winning the ONE gold.

The talented French fighter said:

"I’m a simple guy, so they can meet me everywhere. I walk on the streets of Paris, they meet me and ask ‘Oh, what are you doing here?’ I’m usually just chilling with my friends. Life didn’t change too much for me. I’m still the same, I go to the same places as before with the same people. My friends are the same. My world didn’t really change, but people recognize me more now everywhere."

Needless to say, fans can't wait to see Nicolas back in action in ONE Championship, and they won't have to wait long.
