“I want it all” - Denis Puric always had his sights on Rodtang ahead of ONE 167 kickboxing duel in Bangkok
Denis Puric always knew who he wanted to fight when he signed with ONE Championship, and that man is Rodtang Jitmuangnon.
'The Bosnian Menace' will get his wish when he finally gets to trade leather with Rodtang in a non-title flyweight kickboxing matchup at ONE 167 on June 7 at Impact Arena.
Throughout his victory speeches, Puric always called out the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion to a match and ONE Championship compiled those call-outs in a nifty Instagram reel.
Denis Puric said in his post-fight interviews with ONE Championship commentator Mitch Chilson:
"Rodtang! I want Rodtang! Rodtang, I'm here for you! The only reason why I signed this contract in this organization. I want it all!"
Puric is in fine form, too, with three wins in his last four matches.
His last fight saw him go the distance in a bloody Muay Thai barnburner against Jacob Smith that earned him the unanimous decision win at ONE Fight Night 21 and the number two contender spot in the flyweight Muay Thai ranks.
Rodtang, meanwhile, will make his return to action at ONE 167 after suffering an injury to his left hand earlier this year.
The Thai megastar was supposed to headline the massive ONE 165 card against Japanese icon Takeru Segawa, but he had to pull out of the Tokyo event due to injury.
ONE 167 is available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Denis Puric says Rodtang will be an easy target in their Bangkok matchup
It's not every day that someone actively triggers Rodtang, but Denis Puric is no ordinary individual.
Puric said Rodtang would be an easy target when they square off against each other at Impact Arena on June 7, and he plans to make a statement out of 'The Iron Man' in their ONE 167 duel.
He told ONE Championship in an interview:
"Come on, he's so square. There's nothing but a target there."
