“I want to be an example” - Mansur Malachiev seeks to inspire the next generation of martial arts athletes
Fifth-ranked ONE Championship strawweight MMA contender Mansur Malachiev of Russia has big dreams for his mixed martial arts career. He wants to be a world champion in ONE and reign with dominance over a stacked division.
But more importantly, Malachiev wants to use his time in the world's largest martial arts organization to inspire the next generation of athletes from his home country.
The 32-year-old Industrial Fighters representative said in a recent interview with ONE:
"In these challenging times, I want to be an example for the younger generation. I hope that young people can lead active and healthy lifestyles, look up to athletes, and take inspiration from theologians and virtuous people."
Malachiev added:
"I aspire to be such an example myself, serving as a form of motivation for them."
Malachiev grew up in a rough neighborhood in the Republic of Dagestan. And he knows all too well the adversities kids there face, many of whom aspire to live a better life.
The 32-year-old believes that he is in a fantastic position to give people hope through his performances in ONE Championship, and he will do everything he can to leave a positive impact.
Thankfully, fans won't have to wait long to watch Mansur Malachiev in action as he returns to the Circle later this year.
