"I want a rematch" - Aliff wants to run it back with Ellis Badr Barboza after $50,000 bonus-winning knockout
Aliff Sor Dechapan returned to the win column this past weekend in devastating fashion. In just the second bout of the night, he helped to set the tone for the rest of the evening with a ruthless first-round knockout.
Defeating Zakaria El Jamari saw him get back on track following a tough outcome in his previous fight.
At ONE Fight Night 23 at the start of July, he faced off with Ellis Badr Barboza. The two men fought to a very close decision.
Barboza was able to land a knockdown in the second round. Despite his opponent seemingly winning the first and third rounds, the lack of draws in ONE Championship meant that the Brit got his hand raised via a split decision.
In his post-fight interview after bouncing back, Aliff made it clear that he wants this win back from Barboza:
"In my last match, I made the mistake of absorbing that shot and I tried to defend it to the best of my ability. But I want to tell Ellis Barboza right now that I want a rematch."
Aliff Sor Dechapan reminded fans what he is capable of
Aliff Sor Dechapan went to war with Ellis Badr Barboza in an outstanding fight just this past month.
Whilst he showed a lot in that fight, his performance against Zakaria El Jamari really showed what he is capable of following some tough results.
One head kick that spelled the beginning of the end, in particular, was world-class, with ruthless speed, timing, and accuracy to catch his opponent coming in.
The performance earned him a $50,000 bonus and proved exactly why he is such a valuable member of the main roster after coming through the Friday Fights series.
If their paths cross again soon, you can be sure that a rematch with Barboza will be absolute fireworks.
The replay of ONE Fight Night 24 is available on demand for Prime Video subscribers in North America.
