"I want to see his footwork" - Lito Adiwang says movement will be key for Jacob Smith to counter Rodtang’s marauding style
ONE Championship flyweight MMA standout and ex-Team Lakay star 'Thunder Kid' Lito Adiwang believes footwork and movement will be key for the United Kingdom's Jacob Smith when the Englishman faces Thai marauder 'The Iron Man' Rodtang Jitmuangnon next month.
Adiwang says being elusive is the secret to defeating Rodtang, and Smith needs to work on his ring generalship to get the job done against the Muay Thai megastar.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA in an exclusive interview, Adiwang shared his thoughts on what Smith's game plan against Rodtang should look like, if he wants to take home the gold.
'Thunder Kid' said:
"I want to see his footwork. From what I see, that’s where Rodtang’s game is shaken a bit - when someone is backpedaling or dancing around. We know that his shouts of daring his opponents to stand and bang with him are all for show, but we have to admit that his rhythm is disrupted."
Needless to say, Adiwang will be watching closely as a huge fan of 'the art of eight limbs' when Smith attempts to take the belt from Rodtang in front of the latter's hometown crowd.
