“I want her to see me in a shining light” - ‘White knight’ Jarred Brooks dedicates next title fight to daughter

Jarred Brooks knows he's fighting for something bigger than himself for the interim world title at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2.

The former ONE strawweight MMA world champion will clash with Cuban contender Gustavo Balart to headline the event inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Knowing his own history in the sport, 'The Monkey God' realized that he is now blessed with a different perspective, dedicating his craft for none other than his own family – especially her lovely daughter.

Speaking in an interview with South China Morning Post recently, the American said he wants her daughter to see him as a "white knight' in a shining armor, knowing that he puts everything on the line for her.

He shared his new point of view here:

“I looked up at Tito Ortiz, and I was not afraid to put the chips on the table. But at the same time, my daughter means more than anything to me, and I want her to see me in a shining light and be like, oh, okay, so you went from the dark knight to the white knight and that's what I want to be.”

With this newfound revelation in Brooks' life, will he be able to reign for the second time in the bustling strawweight MMA division?

Jarred Brooks aims to prove something in his clash with Gustavo Balart

American MMA star Jarred Brooks has always been gunning for victory with a point to prove ever since he started his journey with ONE Championship.

He was never shy in proclaiming that he's the best strawweight on the roster, as proven with his victory over Joshua Pacio to claim the belt in 2022.

However, their rematch did not go as planned, as he was disqualified for spiking Pacio on his head.

Now, Brooks returns to claim the interim belt fo secure a trilogy fight against the reigning champion.
