"I want to set an example" - Former flyweight king Adriano Moraes keen to become a beacon of inspiration for his newborn daughter
Former ONE flyweight MMA world champion Adriano Moraes says he strives to become a beacon of inspiration for his newborn daughter ahead of his next bout at ONE 169.
The Brazilian superstar returns to the ONE ring on Nov. 8 with more motivation than ever before. Earlier this year, Moraes and his wife happily welcomed their first daughter, Lila, into the world.
Beyond being excited about the future ahead for their little one, Moraes hopes to be the kind of dad she can emulate and be proud of.
Speaking to ONE Championship this week, the former flyweight kingpin said:
"I am definitely more motivated. I want to set an example. I want to show her that, with a lot of love and dedication, everything we do will work out. I want her to be proud of her father, of everything I have built and will continue to build for our family."
Moraes continued to add:
"I want her to one day be able to see my story, everything I went through to get here, and for this to serve as inspiration for her so that she can also achieve her dreams."
"Guess how many kicks he threw?" - Adriano Moraes hypes up the fans with some first-class talent on his Instagram page
It's been too long since Adriano Moraes last stepped inside the MMA cage. The last person he fought was Demetrious Johnson on May 5, 2023, in front of a sold-out crowd inside Ball Arena in Denver at ONE Fight Night 10.
That night, Johnson proved without a doubt that he was still king of the flyweights after ending his trilogy with Moraes. Although 'Mighty Mouse' ended his MMA journey, there's still Adriano Moraes who's still hungry for his fourth world title reign in ONE Championship.
