“I want to show him that the best chefs come from France” - Bampara Kouyate ready to cook talented Luke Lessei

French striker Bampara Kouyate is standing at the gates of greatness, and he's ready to break in by defeating American star Luke Lessei at ONE Fight Night 23.

Looking for his first victory after coming up short in his debut appearance last October, Kouyate carries with him a certain amount of confidence similar to what is shown by the famous chefs.

With a unique talent like the delicious French cuisine, Kouyate believes that this sophomore appearance will be fruitful for his career with ONE Championship, as he sees that 'The Chef' has forgotten something about his people.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, he shared his views on Lessei, saying the American would not be able to match his own skills:

"He’s a good fighter. Tall and strong fighter, and they call him ‘The Chef’, but I want to show him that the best chefs come from France."

With such clash of style, it would be interesting to see how the two fighters take matters into their own hands this Friday, July 5.

ONE Fight Night 23 is available live and free in U.S. primetime for North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

On the other hand, Luke Lessei wants to extend his record to 2-1 when he clashes with Bampara Kouyate, and he wants to do it with style.

Debuting in December, Lessei has been known as a fighter who always brings the action, and now, he wants it fast and clean when he takes out his French foe inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

In an interview with Violent Money TV, he shared a glimpse of his thoughts ahead of the opportunity in proving his potentials once again at ONE Fight Night 23 on Friday, July 5.

He said:

"I know there's pressure on me because you know I just fought Jo [Nattawut] and I just fought Eddie [Abasolo], I know I'm like America's number one on paper and it's like I just need to go out there and not have a fight like the last two."
"I need to beat the sh*t out of this dude, like clean and decisive and go home. That's it, you know."
