"I want to test my skills" - Eddie Abasolo says he joined ONE Championship to fight "the best in the world"
Filipino-American Muay Thai star Eddie Abasolo's main career goal is to fight the best in the world, which he pointed out as his driving force to sign with ONE Championship.
In an interview with Cageside Press, 'Silky Smooth' said:
"So I know I'm up there, I just want the opportunity to face the highest caliber [of fighters]. I love this art of Muay Thai. I want to test my skills and everything I've poured into this against the best in the world."

Abasolo made his promotional debut against United Kingdom star Liam Nolan at ONE on Prime Video 4 in November 2022. Though he lost via unanimous decision, fans were intrigued by Abasolo's impressive striking display.
In his sophomore outing in March 2023, the 38-year-old dazzled ONE fans with a stunning second-round knockout of Niclas Larsen.
Abasolo then figured in absolute barnburners with Thai legend Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong and Luke Lessei in June 2023 and this past February, respectively.
Abasolo will aim for his second win in ONE when he takes on Mohamed Younes Rabah at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' on Friday, Nov. 8, inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Part of Eddie Abasolo's motivation inside the circle is to give fans an unforgettable showcase of Muay Thai mastery, which he hopes to do at ONE 169.
In the same interview with Cageside Press, the product of The Resistance said:
"When I go in there, obviously, I leave it all out there, and I win the hearts of the crowd. That's the main thing."
