“I will be aggressive” - Superlek Kiatmoo9 plans out of character assault on Jonathan Haggerty
Reigning and undisputed ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 of Thailand is looking to change things up in his next fight.
Known for his tactical intelligence and supreme skill, Superlek has bested the majority of his opponents with carefully placed combinations, sound defense, and superior fight strategy.
However, against 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty, whom he faces in a couple of weeks for double gold, Superlek says he will uncharacteristically go for broke.
Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Superlek revealed plans for an all-out assault on the reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion.
'The Kicking Machine' said:
"This fight will be the first time ever I’ll go 100 percent all out, putting a lot of pressure. I will be aggressive."
'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 is set to challenge two-sport king 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
The two lock horns at ONE 168: Denver, which will be broadcast live from the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, on Friday, September 6th.
Fans in the United States and Canada can catch all the action live and absolutely free on Amazon Prime Video. Limited tickets to watch are available via Ticketmaster.
Jonathan Haggerty plans a rough night for Superlek: "I think it's going to be difficult for him"
As for the double champ himself, 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty is confident he can even the score with Thai rival 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver.
Haggerty and Superlek first met in 2018 in the Englishman's own backyard in the United Kingdom. Superlek ended up winning via doctor's stoppage after busting Haggerty wide open with a cut.
This time, 'The General' says it won't be as easy for the Thai star. He said on his YouTube channel:
"Now we're both in our prime. And the key factor for this fight is the four-ounce gloves, you know. My main strikes are from punching, I think it's going to be difficult for him."
