“I will have an opportunity to get my revenge” - Nabil Anane still wishes to avenge debut loss to two-weight, two-sport king Superlek
Towering Algerian-Thai fighter Nabil Anane hopes to have another crack at now double ONE world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 after he raced to his fifth straight victory in his most recent fight.
The Team Mehdi Zatout affiliate took on 'The Kicking Machine' in a flyweight Muay Thai clash in his promotional debut in June last year. He, however, did not have the opportunity to showcase his full arsenal as Superlek finished him with a knockout in the opening round.
It is a defeat that he is aching to redeem himself from, believing that when he takes on the Thai superstar in a redo he is far better prepared.
Nabil Anane shared this in an interview with combat sports journalist Nic Atkin following his victory at ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs Nattawut. While at it, he also gave Superlek his flowers for an impressive first-round KO of British striker Jonathan Haggerty earlier this month to become the new bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, in addition to being the flyweight kickboxing king.
He said:
"The fight was quite quick, I didn't watch much, but it was a very technical fight. Superlek waited for his moment and then he got the chance, so he put Haggerty down. So congratulations to Superlek. Now he's the champ. Maybe in the future, I will have an opportunity to get my revenge."

Nabil Anane emerges as a unanimous decision winner at ONE Friday Fights 81
At ONE Friday Fights 81: Superbon vs Nattawut on Sept. 27 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, Nabil Anane hacked out a well-deserved unanimous decision victory over Myanmar's Soe Lin Oo in their bantamweight Muay Thai battle of blue-chip prospects.
The 6-foot-3 Anane made full use of his range advantage to control the contest right from the get-go. The 'Man of Steel' would have his moments through the course of their three-rounder but they were not enough to swing the tide in his favor as he slumped to the defeat.
The win was the fifth straight for Nabil Anane after he opened his ONE Championship journey in June last year with a loss. Meanwhile, Soe saw his three-fight winning streak halted with the defeat.
