"I will stop him back to back Chama" - Magomed Ankalaev accuses Alex Pereira of "running", vows to beat 'Poatan' and "give him immediate rematch"

Magomed Ankalaev recently blasted Alex Pereira and accused him of ducking him after it was reported that a light heavyweight title fight is not currently being discussed. The Russian made it clear that he wants a title shot and even offered to add an incentive should the Brazilian accept.

The initial speculation regarding a light heavyweight title fight began after Belal Muhammad was forced to withdraw from his welterweight title main event against Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310.

As a result, the promotion will need a suitable replacement and Ankalaev immediately pushed for Pereira to answer the call and save the event. That bout doesn't appear to be in the works as Championship Rounds posted a report from MMA Fighting that indicated it is not being discussed.

The No.1-ranked light heavyweight commented on the post and put 'Poatan' on blast for not fighting him despite both of them having relatively the same layoff.

Ankalaev mentioned that Pereira keeps avoiding a bout against him and even offered a rematch should he defeat him in a short notice main event:

"Alex keep running [laughing emoji]. I'm gonna beat Alex and I will give him immediate rematch as he deserve. I will stop him back to back chama"

When did Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev last compete?

If Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev were to compete at UFC 310, they wouldn't be a significant advantage in terms of their respective layoffs.

Pereira last competed at UFC 307, where he earned a fourth-round TKO over Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event. It was an entertaining fight that saw 'Poatan' recover from being rocked and ramp up the intensity before stopping Rountree with a combination against the fence.

Ankalaev, on the other hand, last competed at UFC 308, where he earned a unanimous decision win over Aleksandar Rakic. After his win, the Russian called out Pereira and has continued doing so in hopes of their light heavyweight title fight becoming official.
