"I wish that guy died" - Mike Tyson opens up on dark side of boxing return against Jake Paul, makes concerning "mushroom" confession
Although it has been decades since Mike Tyson's heyday in boxing, 'Iron Mike' believes that the feral instincts that led him to world championship glory still reside within him.
Tyson is set to face influencer boxer Jake Paul on Nov.17 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas in an eight-round boxing clash. However, the build-up to the event has largely been cordial and has lacked the usual trash-talking tirade which is a staple for any bout involving Paul.
Aside from a playful shove during their recent press conference in New York, there have been little attempts at intimidation from 'Iron Mike'.
Nevertheless, during a recent appearance on 'The Problem Child's' brother Logan Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast, the former world heavyweight champion stated that the ruthless fighter that he once was, still haunts him to this day. Elaborating on his struggle with suppressing that side of himself, Tyson said:
"When that tough guy Tyson comes out when it's not necessary for it to come out, I'm always in handcuffs. So I'm very careful when that guy comes. Every time I drink or get ready to get in a fight, I break out in handcuffs... I wish I could stop that guy. That guy haunts me... I wish that guy died, but he is here to stay... He wants to come back every second of my life, it's easy for him to come back... Only thing I have to think is being young and people bullied me."
However, his training camp for the fight doesn't seem to have stopped Tyson from enjoying life. In a concerning revelation, 'Iron Mike' said:
"I have to take them [mushrooms] when I train. I always train on mushrooms... I feel so beautiful, it takes me to heaven baby."
