“I am not yet an expert” – Thai fan-favorite Stamp says her English proficiency is "gradually improving"

Reigning and undisputed ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex of Thailand works tirelessly on her fighting skills day in and day out. But her learning extends far beyond the four walls of the gym.

The 26-year-old three-sport queen always hits the books when she's not training, working hard to gain a better grasp of the English language in order to better connect with millions of fans around the world.

Stamp says her English proficiency is "gradually improving" and this could take her from superstar to global phenomenon.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Stamp talked about her progress in learning English.

The 26-year-old Fairtex Training Center product stated:

"In addition to studying, I have also improved my English skills by talking to foreigners at the gym. I talk to the coach all the time. Therefore, my speaking has begun to gradually improve."

Stamp added:

"I still have to rely on an interpreter to help me in on-stage interviews in ONE because this show is broadcast live all over the world. You should speak correctly and officially. I am not yet an expert at that level."

Stamp is without a doubt one of the biggest names in the world of fighting. In addition to being the ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion, Stamp was also the previous holder of the ONE atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing belts.

Stamp Fairtex will put her ONE women's atomweight MMA world title on the line against close friend and former Fairtex training partner 'The Menace' Denice Zamboanga of the Philippines.

The event broadcasts live from the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
