Ian Garry to begin negotiations with Hunter Campbell to elevate UFC 303 clash against Michael 'Venom' Page to five rounds
As if facing one of the UK's greatest MMA talents, Michael 'Venom' Page, is not enough, Ian Garry wants to fight him in a five-round fight. The Irish MMA sensation is set to face 'MVP' in the main card of UFC 303 on June 3rd.
In a video of Garry in the gym, 'The Future' made a bold proclamation regarding his fight with the English kickboxing sensation, saying:
"I'm feeling fresh. I'm feeling ready. I can do five rounds. I'm gonna get on the phone to [UFC Chief Business Officer] Hunter [Campbell] and the UFC today and let's push for a five-round co-main for this. This is the fight where we're representing the Irish. MVP, get ready for 25 minutes of pain."

Ian Garry is channeling his Irish MMA idol Conor McGregor with his fast tongue and confident jive towards Michael Page. Jokes aside, the Irish superstar looks to drag the Englishman to deep waters by asking for five rounds. Let's see if UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell grants him his wish.
Ian Garry's five-round wish may turn his bout into a main-event contest
With the whirlwind of uncertainty surrounding the main event of UFC 303, which is the highly-anticipated return of Conor McGregor, Ian Garry's bout may very well get promoted to the main event slot. This is, of course, purely based on how the entire MMA world is in a guessing game on what will happen to the fight card.
The uncertainty of UFC 303's main event started when the massive press conference set for Dublin, Ireland, got canceled just days after it was announced. Since then, fans, fighters, and media people have been clamoring for official answers if the McGregor-Chandler bout will truly happen.
Renowned MMA journalist Ariel Helwani gave a detailed timeline of the story and a huge update in the end, posting on X:
"Around this time last week, all the anxiety surrounding the UFC 303 main event seemed to start to dissipate. By Wednesday, no more feelers about replacements were being sent out. All systems seemed to be a go (again). Later in the week, Chandler did an interview with The Pivot about it being all good, and on Saturday UFC was promoting it again on the ABC fight night telecast. There was a scare about the fight being off and the scare appeared to be no more."
He continued with:
"But since this morning, multiple sources are now saying feelers are being sent out again for June 29. For a replacement and/or new fight(s). In short, there seems to pessimism all over again regarding the status of the 303 main event. Actually even more pessimism - it seems - than on Monday last week after the presser was cancelled at the last minute."
