Ian Garry dismisses Michael 'Venom' Page's possible legend status ahead of UFC 303: "I believe I’m levels above him"

Ian Garry recently opened up about his bout against Michael 'Venom' Page at UFC 303 and dismissed his status as a potential legend. The Irishman has been a surging contender in the division and noted that he will showcase the levels that separate himself from 'MVP'.

'The Future' has quickly ascended the UFC welterweight rankings since making his promotional debut in 2021. He is currently the No.7-ranked welterweight and will be taking a massive risk when he takes on the former Bellator star, who is currently ranked No.14.

Ahead of their highly anticipated welterweight clash, the 26-year-old took aim at 'MVP's abilities and status in the sport. Championship Rounds tweeted the video, which shows Garry refuting Page as being a legend and mentioning that he intends to put on a dominant performance to prove a point at UFC 303. He said:

"He's [Page] a legend?...You said that. You said that word to wind me up. Don't lie. You said that word to wind me up, you put that there...I believe I'm levels above him in every single way, shape and form, and this is just an opportunity to show it. To prove it to people. You guys think this guy's good? Okay. I'll use him as an example."

Ian Garry vs. Michael 'Venom' Page confirmed for UFC 303 main card opener

Fans won't have to wait very long to see Ian Garry vs. Michael 'Venom' Page, as the bout is set to serve as the UFC 303 main card opener.

After losing Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler, the UFC was forced to adjust the main card on short notice and did so with a new main event and co-main event. They also appear to have high hopes for 'The Future' vs. 'MVP' to kick off the annual International Fight Week event with a bang.

Dana White took to his Instagram account and posted a photo of the official event lineup for UFC 303. Despite not being higher up on the card, the main card opener is a great opportunity and can also see the winner receiving a louder ovation as a result.
