Ilia Topuria claims Paddy Pimblett got UFC 282 win as a "Christmas gift" from the promotion

UFC featherweight Ilia Topuria joined a long list of fighters who believe Paddy Pimblett was gifted a unanimous decision win over Jared Gordon in the co-main event at UFC 282. According to 'El Matador', Pimblett did not even win a single round against Gordon.

However, Topuria, who opened the UFC 282 main-card with a second-round submission win over Bryce Mitchell, did not want to waste time dwelling on Pimblett. But 'El Matador' vowed to hand Pimblett the same treatment that he handed Mitchell if they cross paths in the future. The 25-year-old said during the post-fight presser:

"They gave him a Christmas gift right now. Because he clearly lost the fight. I don't think anyone will disagree with me in this room... Jared win all three rounds. He [Pimblett] didn't win any round. But anyways, f*** him. Right now I'm gonna celebrate my win. And like I said before, he's not on my way right now. So god bless everyone who's not on my way. If he cross on my way, then we're gonna put his head like Bryce head tonight."

Paddy Pimblett claims to live "rent-free" in Ilia Topuria's head

The beef between Paddy Pimblett and Ilia Topuria originally started over the Liverpudlian's comments on Topuria's home country of Georgia. The two had a heated run-in ahead of UFC London back in April, with 'The Baddy' throwing a hand sanitizer bottle at Topuria.

The beef was reignited leading up to the recently concluded UFC 282 card, culminating in a heated verbal exchange that made them the highlight of the pre-fight presser. Weighing in on their exchange, Pimblett later accused Topuria of using his name to gain clout. 'The Baddy' said during the weigh-ins show:

"He's obsessed with me, isn't he? Like, he uses me to stay in the public eye because no one cares about his life, you know what I mean? No one cares about his existence, so he uses my fame, my publicity, and tries to feed off it. No one cares about him, that's the thing. He's irrelevant to my life, that's why I just called him a chorizo... I'm not gonna sit there and let someone try and talk pony. I'll put him right in his place. He got asked a question about his opponent Bryce [Mitchell] and then finished it off by talking about me. It shows how much I'm in his head, rent free."
