Ilia Topuria hilariously speculates why Conor McGregor deletes his tweets, weighs in on social media beef
Ilia Topuria recently opened up about his ongoing feud with Conor McGregor and shared his theory about why the Irishman regularly deletes his tweets. The Georgian-born fighter slammed McGregor for being "a pu**y" and claimed he didn't pay much heed to what the former two-division UFC champion said online.
It's no secret that Topuria has no love for McGregor, and the two have been exchanging shots online for a while. Given that McGregor is widely considered among the greatest trash talkers in MMA history, it's no surprise that he regularly deploys his gift of the gab via written posts on X. However, he's also known to delete his posts if they appear socially/culturally radioactive.
In a recent interview on Shak MMA, Topuria theorized why McGregor deleted his X posts and said:
"He's a pu**y. He's like a small kid. He's like a kid. I insult you, I write some sh*t on social media, and then I delete it. Well, go f**k yourself."

Ilia Topuria discusses feuding with Conor McGregor on social media
In the same interview, Ilia Topuria opened up about his beef with Conor McGregor and addressed them exchanging fire on social media. After Topuria defeated Alexander Volkanovski to capture the featherweight title at UFC 298 last year, he expressed an interest in potentially facing McGregor at some point.
This made 'El Matador' visible on McGregor's radar, and the two began trading shots online regularly. During his interview with Shak MMA, Topuria was asked how he felt about McGregor talking about him on social media. He replied:
"I don't know. At this point, he talks about everyone. So, it's not anything special, you know? He talks about everyone every time. So, I don't know." [10:33 mark]
While Topuria is set to face Max Holloway next, McGregor's future in the cage appears uncertain after his highly anticipated return at UFC 303 against Michael Chandler fell through due to an injury.
