Ilia Topuria's partner, Giorgina Uzcategui Badell, gave an early update to fans on 'El Matador’s' weight well ahead of the UFC 308 weigh-ins. Topuria is poised to defend his featherweight title for the first time this Saturday, taking on Max Holloway at the Eithad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

At the time of writing, the UFC 308 official weigh-ins are currently in progress at the UFC host hotel in Abu Dhabi, where Topuria was the first to step onto the scales, hitting an exact 145 pounds. Shortly after, 'Blessed' followed suit, also registering 145 pounds—the maximum allowable weight to solidify their title fight.

'El Matador' enters this matchup boasting a second-round knockout victory over Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 in February, where he claimed the 145-pound title. Currently undefeated, Topuria holds a flawless record of 7-0 in the UFC, highlighted by impressive wins over notable fighters such as Josh Emmett, Bryce Mitchell, and Jai Herbert.

Meanwhile, Holloway is coming off a spectacular last-second knockout of Justin Gaethje in a lightweight clash at UFC 300 in April, where he captured the BMF title. Currently riding a three-fight win streak, 'Blessed' is poised for his third attempt to reclaim the featherweight championship—a title he originally lost to Volkanovski by unanimous decision at UFC 245 in December 2019. He holds a 22-7 record in the octagon, with 11 of those victories coming by way of knockout.
