Khalil Rountree’s suspension reduced, officially cleared for main event clash against Alex Pereira

Khalil Rountree has received a significant victory outside of the octagon. The light heavyweight contender has had his recent drug test suspension reduced to four and a half months, allowing him to compete in his scheduled title fight against Alex Pereira at UFC 307.

Rountree was originally suspended after testing positive for Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a steroid hormone, before his fight with Jamahal Hill at UFC 303. He self-reported the failed test and attributed it to a contaminated supplement.

The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) reviewed Rountree's case and ultimately decided to reduce the suspension. The commission praised Rountree for his honesty and cooperation, noting that his self-report played a key role in mitigating the penalty.

With the suspension now behind him, Rountree can focus on his upcoming title fight against Pereira. The fight is expected to be a highly competitive matchup between two of the division's top contenders.
