In Photos: "Blessed and humbled" Aljamain Sterling shares candid snaps with family and friends as he turns 35
Former UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling posted photos on Instagram of his 35th birthday celebration.
Over the last decade, 'Funk Master' has etched his name into UFC history by establishing a 16-4 promotional record and becoming a world champion. Sterling's success can partly be attributed to the support he has around him from friends and family, including his fiance, Rebecca Cruz.
On Wednesday, July 1, Sterling was surrounded by loved ones to celebrate his 35th birthday in New York. The former UFC bantamweight king took to Instagram and posted various photos of the festivities, with the following caption:
"#35. Feeling very blessed and humbled to see another year of life. I’m grateful for all the experiences and people that have been in or have come into my life. Today I’m raising a glass for more life and great learning experiences to everyone. Thank you all for the positive messages and the love everyone has sent me. Cheers to more life, prosperity in all our adventures, and another day to chase our goals!"

Aljamain Sterling looks to continue featherweight run against undefeated opponent at UFC 307
In April, Aljamain Sterling officially moved up from bantamweight to featherweight when he fought Calvin Kattar at UFC 300. Sterling decreased the drastic weight cut that was becoming increasingly difficult.
He passed his first test at 145 pounds with flying colors, as he dominated Kattar to a unanimous decision win. Following UFC 300, 'Funk Master' ranked eighth in the division. He now looks to overcome an intriguing stylistic matchup to continue building momentum.
On October 5, Sterling faces the second challenge on his road to becoming the UFC featherweight world champion. The 35-year-old has been matched up against Movsar Evloev, who is coming off a unanimous decision win against Arnold Allen.
Evloev made his UFC debut in April 2019. Since then, the Russian featherweight has extended his undefeated professional MMA record to 18-0, including eight wins in the Octagon, all by decision. The 30-year-old looks to build off his number-five ranking in the division by taking out Sterling at UFC 307.
