In Photos: Ex-UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov spends time at the world-famous Hagia Sophia Mosque while holidaying in Turkey

Former UFC lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to be enjoying his retirement. 'The Eagle' has been spending time traveling and is currently on a holiday in Turkey.

Nurmagomedov uploaded a post to his Instagram account which features several pictures and videos. The Dagestani can be seen enjoying himself in Turkey, with one picture showing him spending time at the world-famous Hagia Sophia Mosque.

During his active days in the UFC, Nuramgomedov was a force to be reckoned with. The 36-year-old remained undefeated throughout his MMA career, retiring with an impeccable record of 29-0.

During his UFC run, Nurmagomedov captured the lightweight championship and defeated the likes of Conor McGregor, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Edson Barboza and Rafael dos Anjos.

The Dagestani's last UFC outing took place in October 2020. He locked horns against Gaethje for the title at UFC 254 and made light work of 'The Highlight', submitting him in the second round.

After the fight, 'The Eagle' announced his retirement from the sport of MMA.


Khabib Nurmagomedov speaks about the possibility of returning to MMA

For years, MMA fans have been speculating on whether Khabib Nurmagomedov will ever return. 'The Eagle' recently did an interview with iNews, during which he was asked about he possibility of returning to action.

Nurmagomedov firmly stated that his decision to retire would not change. The Dagestani added that the public would not miss him as he was helping create several champions from his team:

"There is no chance... If you guys need champions, I'm helping my brothers become champions. We have Islam [Makhachev], a champion, Umar [Nurmagomedov], the next contender, and we have Usman [Nurmagomedov], a champion. We have a lot of champions. But you guys are never gonna miss me because, in our team, in our gym, we create champions. You guys are always gonna have a champion, don't worry about this."
