Dana White speaks about booking an Ilia Topuria fight in Spain
Many MMA fans are eager to see UFC champion Ilia Topuria compete in Spain, and he himself has campaigned for a fight in the country. UFC CEO Dana White recently spoke on the topic and discussed the possible hurdles the promotion may face when attempting to bring a UFC card to the country.
White recently did an interview with Adam Catterall for TNT Sports where he shared they are having trouble booking a venue in Spain due to non-availability.
"The problem with Topuria and Spain is Spain's venues are so backed up since COVID. They have so many events going on. But when we can, we will definitely do that."
Topuria was last seen in action when he defeated Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 to capture the featherweight strap. Although no official announcement has been made by the UFC, 'El Matador' is expected to take on fan-favorite and former featherweight champion, Max Holloway in his next outing.
