In Photos: Max Holloway channels inner Eminem in the gym with UFC 308 fast approaching
Reigning UFC BMF champion and former UFC featherweight kingpin Max Holloway is just a few weeks away from his world title shot against Ilia Topuria at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. 'Blessed' is leaving no stone unturned as his second shot at undisputed gold will have to go through one of the most dangerous knockout artists today.
Taking to his Instagram account, Holloway posted a few photos with the caption being one of Eminem's most iconic songs, commonly used by combat athletes to inspire determination and resilience. The caption read:
"Till I collapse"
Check out Max Holloway's post below:
Perhaps Holoway's willingness to push himself till he collapses is the very reason why he's never collapsed or even knocked down in his 14-year MMA career. On Oct. 26, we'll see Ilia Topuria put that to the test.
Ahead of UFC 308, Max Holloway sends Ilia Topuria an ominous message: "Winter is coming"
In another Instagram post uploaded about a month ago, Max Holloway officially announced his world title shot set for Oct. 26. He accompanied it with an intimidating video of him emerging from the shadows and walking towards the camera, looking at us with a stare that could pierce through a block of wood.
Holloway posted the video with a caption that sends a bad omen to the champion, saying:
"🐺Winter is coming🐺"
The video ends it with his brand logo, an inigeniously simplistic design that conveys Holloway's signature "points to the ground" gesture. This gesture will forever be associated with the fighting Hawaiian, who signals for his opponent to hold his ground and just start swinging for the fences.
Come Oct. 26, look to see 'Blessed' point to the ground and challenge 'El Matador' to put everything on the line and just go to war.
