Dan Hooker is putting in the final bit of work before he fights Mateusz Gamrot at this weekend's UFC 305. Hooker has been sidelined due to injuries since his UFC 290 win over Jalin Turner in July 2023. A lot has changed in the 34-year-old's physical appearance since we last saw him inside the Octagon.

Hooker, whose skin only possessed battle scars that stood out as a reminder of an illustrious career in combat sports, has shown off his new tattoos ahead of his return. In a recent social media post, the City Kickboxing standout shared several pictures from a recent training session where his tattoos were on full display.

Dan Hooker explains his reasons for getting tattoos

In a recent interview with Sporting News Australia, Dan Hooker said that he has always been a tough person and joked that getting tattoos gives him the tough look that many people desire.

Explaining the reasons for getting the tattoos, Hooker said:

"I just kind of fell into it, mate. With the double arm break, I just had a lot of time off training. And then, I guess anyone that gets tattoos is [trying to] get to a look that you have always wanted."

Hooker's experiment with tattoos is far from over. He said he intends to add a little more ink to get a "complete body suit":

"I didn't know where it was going. It's definitely not finished. But I know where it's going now so I can chill for a little bit. I'll have some time. I'll get some wins, knock some fights out of the way, but we're well on our way to getting a complete body suit. But I think I will stay off the hands, the face and the neck or leave it for the last."
