Interim strawweight MMA champ Jarred Brooks believes Shamil Erdogan "is a threat" to the middleweight MMA throne

According to current ONE interim strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks, Shamil Erdogan has emerged as a solid contender in the ONE middleweight division after his TKO victory against former two-division MMA world champion Aung La N Sang at ONE 168: Denver last weekend.

Brooks commented on the Instagram video of Erdogan's winning moment that was captioned:

"DOMINANCE 💪 Shamil Erdogan moves to 10-0 with a TKO win over former two-division World Champion Aung La N Sang! @lion_no_sleep"

'The Monkey God' has seen enough of his dominance and proclaimed that the Turkish fighter is a threat to anyone in the division, as he commented on the post:

The Kremrost Fight Club-affiliated athlete displayed not only his grappling prowess over 'The Burmese Python' but also showed tremendous improvements in his striking acumen by clipping Aung La multiple times during the fight.

That victory improved his professional record to 10-0 and extended his win streak to two under the world's largest martial arts organization.

ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong has nothing but big respect for Shamil Erdogan after stoppage win over Aung La N Sang

Brooks is not the only one who thinks Erdogan impressed in his latest fight at ONE 168: Denver; the ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong also praised Erdogan's well-rounded skillset, particularly his top-tier wrestling.

According to the ONE honcho, a fight with reigning three-division MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin is an intriguing matchup, given their history, which dates back to their early journey as competitors at the national level.

Sityodyong shared this during the pos-event conference of ONE 168: Denver, as he said:

"For sure, I don't think many people know Shamil. He's Dagestani, born and raised [and part of the] Russian national wrestling team. He's an absolute beast, and obviously undefeated in MMA, 10-0. And I believe he was a world champion in wrestling but also he defeated Anatoly in wrestling way back when they were in the national circuit in Russia. So there's an intriguing backstory for sure."
