Irene Aldana shows off stitches of worst face cut in UFC history, reveals the exact moment of horrific injury

Irene Aldana recently shared a close-up look at the nasty cut she suffered during her fight against Norma Dumont at UFC 306 last weekend. Aldana expressed her gratitude for all the fans lauding her tenacity and clarified that she was doing fine after receiving medical attention.

Aldana went to war against Dumont in a women's bantamweight bout, during which she suffered one of the most gruesome and gnarly cuts in UFC history on her face. While she was injured in several places, the nearly two-inch deep cut on her face was initially caused by an unintentional clash of heads and made worse by Dumont's strikes landing on her opponent's head multiple times.

In the immediate aftermath, Aldana was unsurprisingly rushed to the hospital, where doctors stitched up her face. After her medical treatment, Aldana seemed in a jolly mood and appeared to joke about her post-fight condition. She showed off her battle scars and jokingly applied makeup in an Instagram post.

She also shared a slow-mo clip of the exact moment the cut opened up on her face. Showing the head-butt moment during the fight, she posted a clip to Instagram with the caption:

"For those wondering what caused the cut... That's the way it is... Thanks again for so much support, I'm very happy."
