Is Cris Cyborg trans? Details about the MMA legend as she finishes Cat Zingano at Bellator 300

Earlier this weekend, MMA Legend Cris Cyborg defended her Bellator women's featherweight championship for the fifth time as she knocked out UFC veteran Cat Zingano in the first round at Bellator 300.

Although the athlete's superior conditioning and physique have led to many ill-informed speculations about her being trans, it can't be further from the truth. The 38-year-old is one of the greatest women MMA fighters to have ever stepped in the cage.

Starting her mixed martial arts journey with a first-round submission loss to Erica Paes at SF - Showfight 2 in 2005, she then went on a 16-fight undefeated streak before making her UFC debut in 2016, where she made light work of Leslie Smith via first-round TKO.

Quickly rising through the premier promotions ranks, the Brazilian laid claim to the UFC featherweight champion at UFC 214 with a third-round TKO against Tonya Evinger.

Cyborg then defended the title twice before suffering her first loss in over 13 years as she fell prey to a first-round KO loss to another legend, Amanda Nunes, at UFC 232.

Her troubled relationship with the UFC brass saw her being released from the promotion in 2019, paving the way for her tenure at Bellator. The Brazilian is now 6-0 at the promotion and holds the No. 1 spot on the Bellator pound-for-pound rankings.

Cris Cyborg "disappointed" she never got the rematch against Amanda Nunes

The loss against Amanda Nunes is easily one of the most heart-wrenching moments of Cris Cyborg's fighting career. To make matters worse, the 38-year-old was cut from the UFC soon after shutting all doors for her chance at retribution.

Now that Nunes has retired from the sport, the Brazilian will most likely never have her chance to get closure.

During an interview with MMA reporter James Lynch, the multi-promotional champion spoke her mind about her arch-rival's retirement:

"I don't want to say upset but... I think the right word is disappointed. I had one goal in my heart: to make the rematch before I retired or she retired. I think a lot of fans [were] asking for this too... After we fought, I was 14-years undefeated. I think the rematch, it was going to be great."
