Islam Makhachev's UFC 280 camp to prepare for Charles Oliveira cost "over seven figures," reveals Daniel Cormier - "They have spent a ton of money to prepare this guy"
Daniel Cormier recently revealed details about Islam Makhachev's training camp in preparation for his upcoming title fight.
Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira will lock horns against each other for the vacant lightweight title this Saturday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Ahead of the contest, UFC commentator Daniel Cormier revealed in a recent video that Dagestani's camp spent "over seven figures" preparing the fighter for his fight against Charles Oliveira.
In a conversation with Brett Okamoto for ESPN MMA, the former American Kickboxing Academy trainee said:
"Man, they have been training... those guys have been training hard. They have been in Abu Dhabi for a while. They said they spent over seven figures on training camps, preparing this guy... for this fight."
Makhachev's team, according to 'DC', has ensured that the fighter receives the best facilities in terms of training partners and other training facilities:
"They have sent so much preparing this guy for this moment... from the training facilities to the hotel rooms, to the training partners to everything. They have spent a ton of money to prepare this guy for this fight... to ensure that all this are covered. They have done everything to get him ready, and for everything that I have heard... he is as ready as they have ever seen."

Islam Makhachev is not planning to call out Conor McGregor if he secures a win at UFC 280
In a recent appearance on the Full Send podcast, lightweight title contender Islam Makhachev stated unequivocally that even if he wins the lightweight title, he will not challenge Conor McGregor to a fight.
The Dagestani fighter believes that fighters such as Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot are deserving of a title shot more than the Irishman:
"Every fighter try to call him after... I'm not gonna call him after the fight because I want to fight with real fighters who deserve the title shot. Gamrot, Beneil, other guys."
Furthermore, when asked about McGregor's potential return, the 31-year-old revealed that he does not expect McGregor to return to the octagon anytime soon.
The lightweight title contender said:
"He come back and just tweeted you know, that's it. He's always in the Twitter because people almost forget him, you know. And he try to put something and he put today something, people are gonna talk about him. But I don't believe he's gonna come back."
