Islam Makhachev will not call out Conor McGregor if he wins at UFC 280

Islam Makhachev won't call out Conor McGregor if he wins the lightweight title at UFC 280. Asked about McGregor's potential return to the octagon, Makhachev claimed that Twitter is the only place where 'Notorious' will make a comeback. The lightweight contender said in a recent appearance on the Full Send Podcast:

"He come back and just tweeted you know, that's it. He's always in the Twitter because people almost forget him, you know. And he try to put something and he put today something, people are gonna talk about him. But I don't believe he's gonna come back."

Nelk Boys member Salim asked Makhachev to do him the favor of "smashing" McGregor in case the Irishman returns. However, unlike others seeking a big payday, the Dagestani standout has no plans of calling out 'Notorious' if he wins at UFC 280.

Speaking of potential contenders deserving of a title shot, Makhachev named Beneil Dariush and Mateusz Gamrot, who will also clash on the UFC 280 card. The 31-year-old further said:

"Every fighter try to call him after... I'm not gonna call him after the fight because I want to fight with real fighters who deserve the title shot. Gamrot, Beneil, other guys."

Conor McGregor has predicted Charles Oliveira to easily beat Islam Makhachev

Despite having been on the sidelines for over a year, Conor McGregor has no dearth of high caliber opponents calling him out. Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira both called out the Irishman after their wins at UFC 274 in May.

Since then, Oliveira hasn't shied away from openly voicing his preference for a money-fight against McGregor in favor of a bout against Islam Makhachev.

According to 'do Bronx', the Dagestani still needed to prove himself against a top-five contender before making a bid for UFC gold.

Now that the bout between Makhachev and Oliveira has come to fruition, McGregor has predicted an easy win for Oliveira. Answering a Twitter question about his pick for the UFC 280 headliner, 'Notorious' wrote on Twitter:

"Olly and easily."
